Peter Davis is the Chief of the Galveston Island Beach Patrol and of the Park Board Police Department. He started working for Beach Patrol in 1983.  He is the Secretary General of the Americas Region of the International Lifesaving Federation, as well as the Vice President of the United States Lifesaving Association. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from Trinity University and a M.F.A in Studio Art from the University of California-Davis.

Peter is an instructor for USLA and Red Cross open water lifeguarding, Red Cross Emergency Medical Response and personal water craft rescue. He is an Emergency Medical Technician, Texas Peace Officer, Marine Safety Enforcement Officer, Emergency Vehicle Operator, Swift Water Technician and Public Safety Diver. He is actively involved in training Mexican lifeguards and he coordinates a lifeguard exchange program with Galveston’s sister city, Veracruz. He was the lead instructor for several international efforts to train the first open water lifeguard instructors for the beaches in Venezuela.  Peter was selected as Aquatic International Magazine’s “Power 25”, one of the 25 most influential people in aquatics.  He produced and co-wrote the educational video “Texas Beaches- Know the Dangers”, winner of both the National Telly and Communicators Awards. In addition he co-edited the Spanish edition of theUSLAManual.

 

 Captain Tony Pryor

Tony Pryor is the Captain and Operations Supervisor of Galveston Island Beach Patrol.  His first year on Beach Patrol was 1998. Tony serves as Certification Committee Chair of the United States Lifesaving Association, as well as Head Coach of the Galveston Island Swim Team. He holds a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston.

Tony is an instructor for USLA and Red Cross open water lifeguarding, Red Cross Emergency Medical Response and personal water craft rescue. He is an Emergency Medical Technician, Emergency Vehicle Operator, Swift Water Technician and Basic Open Water Diver.

 

 Lieutenant Mike Reardon

Mike Reardon is the Lieutenant and Administrative Officer Galveston Island Beach Patrol.  He started working for Beach Patrol in 1978. He is a Registered Nurse and holds an M.S.N. from UTMB-Galveston.

Mike is an instructor for USLA  open water lifeguarding, and personal water craft rescue. He is a Master Texas Peace Officer, Marine Safety Enforcement Officer, Emergency Vehicle Operator and Swift Water Technician.

Penny Shull is a Water Safety Enforcement Officer, the Education Officer, and Junior Guard Director for Galveston Island Beach Patrol.  She started working for Beach Patrol in 2002. Penny holds a B.S. in Genetics from Texas A&M University.
